From an early age, Richard had a vivid imagination and creative mind, and a way of making something magical out something seemingly ordinary. As the only son of a Colombian and Southern Georgian, he and his three sisters infused their childhood with an adventurous curiosity about the world around them. He never lived the same day twice.
He took his first solo trip at age 13 to visit his roots in Colombia, which planted a lifelong love of travel in him and ultimately, had a hand in his career path in event planning and management. However, he made a meaningful stop along the way. He packed up his 35mm camera and took his growing affinity for the visual arts with him to SCAD, formerly the Atlanta College of Art, where he was surrounded by talent and intellectual curiosity. Lengthy critiques of his work pushed him not only to hone his craft, but ultimately prepared him for the creative challenges in his professional career.
After college, he found himself pulled even deeper into the art world from designing art installations to chasing travel photography, which hooked him on living life on the road and actually landed him his first job as a travel director. 25+ years later, he can look back on a career filled with never-been-done, never-before-seen events in the world’s most sought after destinations. Richard’s experience and global reach are the architecture of his passion for world class events.
And now, he’s bringing that creativity and experience to designing and curating events, event teams, and talent and production to partner with your team in creating top tier events. Working with Richard at RG Group, your organization is just one phone call away from a deep global network.
